Picture cycling on and off plasma 50"

I have a Samsung 50" plasma model PN50B550T2FXZA that a couple months ago would turn off randomly and then come back on. It started doing it just on the coax source and would be very infrequently. Now it is happening           constantly and on all sources. It will come on with a picture and everything and then shut off within a minute and turn back on and will just keep doing this cycle continuously. I checked and it doesn't look like it has any bad capacitors. However, the back of the main board has some odd discoloration to it, it looks like dried soda and the power supply board looks like some of the leads have corrosion. I’m not an expert and I’m not sure of the next step to be looking at and just looking for some ideas.

Back of power supply. Looks like corrosion to me. My question is this fixable or should I just get a new board?

post some good images of your boards with your question. that way we can see what yuo see. Use this guide Bilder zu einer vorhandenen Frage hinzufügen for that. What you are describing could be from a leaky capacitor but it could also be stuff that is applied when the PCB's get build.

What I saw was on the back of the power supply and the main board but I just had it plugged in so I'll give it a bit and take them out and take a pic of the back. Also, turning the picture settings to "standard" seems to keep the cycling on and off to a minimum.

Just incase anybody else comes across this post with this problem I wanted to followup on this post. It was the corrosion on the back of the power supply board that caused the TV to shut off and on. Replacing the board fixed the issue completely.

Tried so many fixes over the last few months. Problem kept getting progressively worse. Randomly going into on/off cycle. In my case all it took was unplugging cleaning off and re-plugging the power supply. I had cut the power from the power strip and wall multiple times but did not fully do the job of unplugging and cleaning directly from back of the tv. stupidly I kept thinking "it has power" and was trying to determine the other patterns that were triggering the on/off cycle (ie. every time I used the remote)

@mlavallee

if the last image is the back side of your power supply, it looks pretty damaged. May be a clearer picture would shed more light on it. I would replace the complete board.

Try replacing the capacitors on the board. Plasma TVs are known to go bad because of old, leaking capacitors.

All capacitors? Because none appear to be bulging.
