new screens "Searching" indefinitely. (Old Screen Works)

hi there!

we have an SE run through our store, and well, the titel says it all.

we tried 4 new screens, and they all had an indefinite searching issue.

we put the old screen on, and it instantly connected to the network.

i have uses the “Airplane mode off/on” from the old iphone 4/4s. this does not rectify the situation

im curious if apple has made another forced obselence update?

i have had it happen on other models but turning aeroplane mode on and off solved that problem

yeah, that used to be a thing for the iphone 4/4s. unfortunately this doesnt fix the issue for this. thankyou for the update though. ill add that to the list of things tried

Intereresting because the antenna is not in the screen, rather in the logic board. I would have said it would be the antenna but you replaced the screen, not the Logic Board.

i know. this is why it is weird. if i put the old screen on, and it didnt work, i would have been able to chalk that up to technician error.

But unfortunately, (and forutitously at the same time) it works fine with the old screen. this is what confuses me.

The iPhone 5 had a similar issue. It was only solved when you do a reset through dfu. After doing so it would give a no sim error. After removing and reinserting the sim it would work normally. I’m not quite sure if you would want to try this with the SE. but it is a major headache. Sometimes apple gets on my nerves.

i did hundreds of iphone 5s, and i never encountered this. thats likely why i didnt think to try it. ill email my customer and suggest giving it a shot. thanks for your help
