You may want to identify what exactly happened to the device - ideally what lead to the component not being able to function. That way, I could bring a more informative answer. But all is well - here are my suggestions for you as repairing it isn’t exactly practical..

Have you tried to clean any debris out of the port? That would be the first thing you should do to get it out of the way. Things like air duster (being gentle) and or a cotton swab can help get anything clinging inside the jack.
