Ear Speaker, No Sound.

So for the last few months my ear speaker on my iPhone 6 stopped working. It stopped after a replacement screen was installed. I just assumed it was a defective screen assembly, but I just swapped out the screen assembly for 2 other known good assemblies (one OEM from a donor phone from a friend to test, one new eBay).

That being said, is there another connection inside for the earpiece? everything else on the phone works, speaker, mic, etc.

I have also did a factory reset with no luck.

Ist dies eine gute Frage?

Hmm I guess I can give it a try just odd that 2 other known good screen assemblies do not work either.

It's either a alignment issue with the earpiece speaker or damage done to the front camera ribbon cable usually teared when you inspect the front camera assembly more carefully.

Usually when it's a tear, front camera and earpiece don't work at the same time.

I suggest trying another front camera assembly because it's extremely rare for the earpiece speaker to get damaged during a repair.

Here are parts and guide on how to replace it:

iPhone 6 Front Camera and Sensor Cable

Worst case scenario I say would be the front camera connector on the board being physically damaged.

This happened to a friend of mine also during a screen replacement. There are 2 options:

1) The ear speaker isn’t well connected (or isn’t connected) to the motherboard of your phone. In this case you just need to open your iPhone again to put it back where it was.

2) The ear speaker’s connector’s pins have been damaged during the repair process. If you’re lucky you just have to buy another speaker. If not, that’s the connector placed on the motherboard that has been damaged and I won’t be able to help you for this… you’ll have to continue to use your phone without your ear speaker or replace the motherboard but this will be pretty hard and if you already broke a connector during the first repair, this might not be a good idea to change your motherboard due to the number of different extremely fragile elements placed into your phone…

I hope that I’ve been usefull :)

Have a nice day.
