Why is my password not working

I’ve got this laptop back in 2016 I think and it was working fine and then I didn’t use it for a while and it’s quite glitchy when I try turn on the screen etc. When I try type in my password it doesn’t work, I’ve changed it and it works on my phone but still doesn’t work on my laptop anyone know why?

What do you mean when you say "When I try type in my password it doesn’t work, I’ve changed it and it works on my phone"?

What password are you talking about?

Windows login password or BIOS password or password entered into a webpage to access something?

Have you tried connecting a USB keyboard to prove whether it is a laptop keyboard problem or not or checked that you haven't accidentally left caps lock on etc if the password is case sensitive?
