Hi @tim300 ,

Could you please verify the model number of your Lenovo desktop?

I ask because the beep error code , (is it 3 short 1 long?) is not listed as a code in the service manual (see p.67) for a Lenovo M91p desktop.

Machine Types: 4466, 4468, 4471, 4473, 4474, 4476, 4477, 4479, 4480, 4485, 4495, 4496, 4497, 4498, 4499, 4503, 4504, 4512, 4513, 4514, 4517, 4518, 4524, 4554, 7005, 7021, 7023, 7032,7033, 7034, 7035, 7049, 7052, 7053, 7072, 7073, 7079, 7136, 7177, and 7178

It is however listed as a RAM fault code for M77 series desktops for example.

Machine Types: 1982, 1983, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2002, 2010, 2208, 2209, 2221, 2224, 2226, and 2227

so I believe that it may not just be an omission from the manual for the M91p

If possible have you tried a different monitor at all just in case an error message is being displayed during POST or at least proved that yours is working by trying the monitor's OSD menus etc?

Alternatively try a power reset and see if that works.

Remove the AC power from the desktop, remove the coin cell CMOS battery - note the orientation of the battery to ensure that you re install it the correct way, (p.92 of the manual) from the motherboard, press and hold the desktop Power On button for 30 seconds and release Reinsert the coin cell CMOS battery, reconnect the AC power and then turn on the desktop.

You may want to test the coin cell battery with a voltmeter to check that it is still OK. usually they are 3V lithium type (non rechargeable type # on battery) and have a life of about 5-7 years.

If it starts you will have to enter BIOS to restore any settings that you may have altered previously to suit your requirements

Moving the clear CMOS jumper (see p.45) may also work but I don't know if this clears the whole CMOS area or just the password area whereas i do know that removing "all" the power from the motherboard does reset the BIOS back to its default values.

I'm hoping that as you should get a 001-292-XXX System CMOS RAM error message on the screen for faulty RAM that it is only a corrupt BIOS that may be causing the problem hence the as yet unknown beep error code meaning if it is the correct model ;-)

I already tries that and my ram is not the problem because I inserted it in another pc and it worked just fine and I did the same for my hard drive and graphics card i believe the problem could either be my motherboard, cpu,or power supply this is so frustrating idk what to do.

The motherboard is probably bad then. The other other thing I can suggest is try different ram in it or maybe blowing any dust out of the ram slots.
