iPhone 6+ home & Touch ID won’t work after screen replaced or IOS 12?

My iPhone 6+ 128GB Space Gray is running on IOS 11.something. It don’t have that “Touch disease” it doesn’t have that white or gray flickering on top of the screen but it has ghost touch where it touches itself because its bent. I know this is my fault because I go to a local phone repair shop and got my screen replaced for $50. It’s not a black screen, its a white one so the screen is white and the home button is black. The home button and Touch ID is working perfectly. I updated it in the last version of IOS 11 and its still working but when I updated it on IOS 12 (not beta) after 5 days, the home button and Touch ID won’t work. I thought it was a software issue and I waited for IOS 12.1 and I updated it, but still won’t work. I don’t know if its a Software or Hardware issue. If you have suggestions in trying to repair this. That will be a BIG help. Thanks.

There’s not much you can do.. since without home buttom you can’t even try a hard reset, you’ll have to dig into hardware side if you have the tools and feel like it, or take your phone back to where it was repaired and ask them to double check their job, maybe reseating connectors in place is all that’s needed. A screen replacement on a 6+ usually doesn’t require any home button related component replacement, it’s just a matter of unplugging and plugging back parts to the screen. I would rule out a software problem, have updated myself a couple 6+ to 12.1 in the last few days without any issue.

This is most likely a hardware bug as from your provided information you did not get the screen replaced from Apple which could yield the issue that you are facing

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure I read or watched Youtube Apple added something to IOS to prevent people from performing repairs on their own so they can charge you 75% the cost of a new phone to repair your broken phone. Or force you to buy a new one.
