Logic Board upgrade - Fan upgrade...?

Hi Everyone,

Ok I am thinking about upgrading my logic board on my 13” mid 2014 retina. Either that or new laptop but considering the new screen and battery in this laptop and the lower cost I will prob just upgrade this one.

At the moment it has a 2.6 GHZ i5 dual-core 8 GB RAM logic in. I see on the ifixit and other websites I can upgrade this to a 3.0 GHZ i7 with 16GB RAM, and some other options.

My question is would I need to upgrade the fan system for this to go in? Or if these websites say it is compatible is that meaning no need for fan upgrades?
