My ice maker keeps jamming,

My ice maker keeps jamming, for lack of a better term. There’s ice in it, but it seems like the ice is actually falling to the left instead of the right. It jams the mechanism and won’t let the ice release the rest of the way. So every few weeks, I have to pull the entire assembly out and clear the ice out of the left side so it’ll start working again. It’s really sporadic, though, so I haven’t been able to pin down a cause. Any thoughts?
