lcd panel on iMac mid 2011 fell and ripped out socket of vsync cable
Can I replace this socket, resolder it, or is it held on enough by the bottom connectors (which are intact) that it will work fine?
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

The solder pads have been ripped off from the anchor pads that used to be secured to the board. What I would do is use either epoxy or superglue carefully to adhere the connector back down flat to the board.
If you do go this route make sure to not get any of it in the connector. You can use a bit of tape to hold it down when waiting for the glue to hold down.

Ill try that rn and update u, thx!
When trying to bend it back to apply the glue the whole connector ripped off. Now would there be anyway to resolder this connector or buy a new one?
Might have to buy a new one. The only other solution that is suitable would be to take it to someone reputable that does micro-soldering.
The vsync cable can be reconnected to the board directly via wires but not via the connector socket.
Thanks for the response! Do you mean buy a new logic board or just a connector? Would I need to solder this connector onto the board when I receive it.? Also, if I do have to get the connector, do you know what it is called?
New logic board I meant, otherwise if you want to re-connect VSYNC cable to board you'll need to solder the vsync wires directly to the VSYNC connector pins if they are still on the board but need to be extremely careful with the cable when putting it back together as there isn't much holding it.
From that image I can see that the 2nd to 4th pins go to probe points (the golden circles they can be used to re-solder wire to. The 1st pin (left side) is most likely going to be a ground pin, this can be confirmed by using a multimeter and see if there is no resistance to a ground plane such as a metal cover or screw hole on the board (0 ohms).
The main problem after connecting said wires is that they need to be held in very well and not be tugged on as that can rip the connections again off the board.
Best solution is just buy a new Backlight Board $15 on ebay.
This board is where the VSYNC connector is located, VSYNC connector is NOT on the Logic bd.
