My grandma and I were watching TV when the screen suddenly went black. We have sound and can change channels, volume, etc. I have turned it on and back off and have unplugged it for 30 seconds, but that didn't work. Please help me

This could be a couple things. First try the flashlight trick. take a flashlight and shine it on the display while the tv is on. if you can see any faint images, then you have a bad backlight driver. If there is no picture, then you either have a bad TCON or Mainboard. More than likely it is the Mainboard. This would be the one that is connected inbetween the powersupply board and tcon. it will more than likely have all of the video inputs and outputs on it.
