Speaker Replacements MBP Early 2011 (17") A1297
Hello all
I have an early 2011 (8.3) MacBook Pro 17” uni body, i7 , 2.3ghz laptop.
With the machine in front of me and turned on.
It seems the speaker (magsafe side) on the ‘left side’ is rumbling, i.e needs replacing.
I have a part number of 922 - 9821 (left speaker)
There is also part number 922 - 9290 (left speaker)
Also part number of 922 -9289 (right speaker + subwoofer)
I got these part numbers from
Can anyone clarify the correct ‘left side speaker’ part number for this machine ?
And if possible any suitable alternative replacement speakers from any other similar machines that may fit this logic board ?
As it’s an ageing machine and parts are difficult to source.
Yes, last resort is to just use a ‘bluetooth’ wireless speaker instead.
Thanks for reading.
Update (09/29/2019)
I see there’s a slight difference with regard to microphone slot, but it’s good to know there’s more than one option.

When is the Left the Right? Depending on which side you are looking at ;-}
For clarity we assume the keyboard is up in the normal use position. So if you roll the system up and over bottom to top to get to the bottom the Left is still on your Left.
But, if you flip it over left to right then the Left is on the Right! Often called Stage left.
You've listed both Left & Right speakers here and only the Left speaker has the microphone cutout (MagSafe side)
