New Battery Drops from 50% to 7%

I installed a new iFixit battery in my 15” late 2013 rMBP. I followed the calibration steps in the write up, but I see that when discharging the battery it suddenly drops from 50% down to about 7%. I’m not sure if I did something wrong in the calibration steps, I let the battery drain down to where it automatically shut off and I let it sit overnight (about 7 hours). Plugged it back in and it took a good 3 - 4 hours to charge to full. I let it sit at 100% for a few hours again and wanted to see if the battery life had improved. Now I see the battery charge percentage just drop off a cliff. Any ideas or is the battery itself faulty?
