The A1502’s from 2013-2015 use different model no batteries A1493 and A1582. They are both cross compatible. But if possible try to match the battery model number.
I’ve used vice-versa and it has worked either way.

Alright thanks, I've got a 2013 a1502 that arrived with no battery. Is there anyway to figure out which one it had? Thank you
That one used the A1493 battery. Getting the a1582 battery is a better choice as the battery cells will be newer and better than a battery that was made in 2013.
For what it’s worth, I ordered a 1502 battery and ifixit sent me a 1582. The fit took some effort, as the fit wasn’t perfect, but I got it in. And it works!
