Logic board capacitor fault (I've been told)
My macbook pro started randomly turning off. Eventually, it would not get past the turning on screen. Did an SMC reset and it seemed to work again for a day. Then it just wouldnt turn on at all. The power charger light is orange and it turns green if i try a smc reset.
I took it to an authorised service center. They said there was “damage on the capacitors on the logic board responsible for power.”
I was quoted $650 for repair which involved a new logic board. Seems a bit excessive for a 5 y/o laptop.
Is there anyway I can just replace the capacitors?
Ist dies eine gute Frage?
