Why is the microphone temperamental?

Hi,

I repaired an iPhone SE about a month ago, with a new screen. It has been really temperamental in terms of the microphone. Videos, voice memos and Siri will mostly work, however it will not listen for “Hey Siri”. Sometimes on calls it will go silent.

Also, it will randomly cut out on calls, however it is not a connectivity issue.

Any ideas?
