I have a year or so old Samsung UN49m5300 that just yesterday started looking very fuzzy and then half of the picture turned into a black and white almost checkerboard. Is this a bad Main board?

Which half of the picture, top, bottom, left or right?
Does it do this when viewing the menu screens?
