8GB iPod Touch showing up as 16GB in Windows?

I have a 2nd generation MC, the MC only comes in 8GB, and when I selected iPod in This PC, it said “Internal Storage, 6.45GB free out out 13.6GB”?! It said it was a 16GB! It shows up in iTunes as an 8GB, this was before I set it up, but, why is a 2nd gen iPod Touch MC showing up as a 16gb in Windows?
