Battery Issue, that affected the film ETC.

I actually have an Instax mini 9 but it wasn’t in the options. But basically I used my camera for the first time in a while and put brand new batteries so they wouldn’t mess up film, but that’s exactly what they did. Basically I went to take the first photo that gets rid of the black layer thing on the film and it stopped printing it mid way. At first I had no idea what was happening and started messing with the film and then saw people online saying it was a battery issue. So I replaced the batteries like 6 times ( different one each time) and it still won’t take a photo. I’m starting to think it’s an issue with the battery compartment but any tips or help is very needed. Thanks!
