MacBook Pro 16 inch 2019 - Can't remove one backplate screw

I have tried to remove the backplate on my Macbook Pro 16 inch, but I can’t figure out how to remove the last screw on the top left hand corner. I am using the correct tool to unscrew it, but when I try to unscrew it, it just spins in place. It won’t come out even after using a plastic pry tool, unscrewing it upside down and using a magnet . All the other screws remove just fine. Any advice?

Why are you trying to open up a machine that is still under full warranty?

There’s nothing upgradable in there.

@mayer - I agree there is nothing upgradable, but if he had a spill or sat the system down on a wet surface he may want to check things.

Besides, he may want to marvel on Apple's design & finesse on the insides. ;-}

@danj The last 3D I watched was "Creature From the Black Lagoon" circa 1954 that was all I wanted from 3D

@mayer - Back in the '70's holograms where the big thing! Using a laser to burn a 3D image into a sheet of photographic film which you could look through and see an image was great fun! MIT-Museum Holograms.

You’ll need to slide a few lassos of button thread around the head of the screw so you can lift the screw out as you twist it. I’m suspecting the screw machine which threads the screws to hold the bottom plate over torqued it so the thread edge of the case is damaged so the screw is still caught up.
