Bluetooth keyboard & trackpad not connected at logon screen

I’m using my MacBook Pro in clamshell mode with Apple Magic Keyboard & Trackpad.

I shut my machine down after use and it boots up again when I turn my external monitor on and the lid is closed, however, the bluetooth accessories are unresponsive/not connected until I put in my password (which I have to do by opening the lid of the MBP, typing and closing again).

My question is: can I elect to allow my bluetooth accessories to connect at login, before I enter my password, to save having to open the lid, enter password and close lid again.
