Face ID not working: Higher/Lower

Hi! I have an iphone xs max with face id not working. I bought it second hand with a already cracked screen.

Here is what I know:

face id fails to detect a face during the setup process. Keeps sending the two messages: move iphone a little lower/higher
Animoji works perfectly
Flood illuminator also works
Proximity sensor and autobrightness are functionally
Attention works
Front camera works (without any blur)
Back camera and portrait mode works
Phone has liquid indicator is not red.
Phone is up to date (iOS 13.5.1)

Einstellungen

It a possibility that the front camera or the earpiece speaker/proximity sensor cable is damaged or been changed. They are paired to the motherboard and if one is not original face Id won't work.

I bought the phone second hand. And it worked good for him then he reset the phone and gave it to me, when I tried to set it up it never worked. Like ever.
