Hi @woleayara ,

What is the make and model number of the phone?

How long is it on for before it restarts or is it just continually boot looping?

von

The make is Tecno W2. There are two numbers . The phone is always on for about 14 mins. before it restarts itself. At every 14 minutes, it will restart itself.

Hi @woleayara ,

Firstly, hover your mouse over the comment that you made and click on Edit and delete the IME numbers from the comment. They are not necessary and you don’t want that information publicly available all over the internet ;-)

Try starting the phone in safe mode and check if the problem still occurs.

If it doesn’t happen when in safe mode, then a downloaded app is the cause of the problem. The trick is to find out which one. You will need to uninstall each downloaded app, one by one and test the phone in normal mode between each uninstall. When it works OK the last downloaded app that was uninstalled was the culprit.

Here’s the procedure to get into safe mode in your phone.

1) switch off your phone

2) switch it on again using the power button.

3) while the phone is booting press and hold both volume up and down buttons, i.e. both buttons together.

4) after finish booting, the device will show safe mode fixed to the bottom of the screen. Release the buttons.

5) To exit safe mode, just turn off the phone in the normal way and then turn on again.

If it still happens when in safe mode, does it happen with the charger connected to the phone?

Update (06/29/2020)

Try the following:

Get into the Boot recovery mode and wipe the cache partition.

Here’s the procedure:

Turn off the phone if on

Press the Power button and the Vol.Up button (both together) until the boot mode menu appears then release the buttons.

Use the Vol.Up button to navigate to the Recovery mode option.

Use the Vol. Down button to select it.

When the Recovery menu appears use the Vol.Up/Dn button to navigate to the wipe cache partition option.

Press the Power button to select and then follow the prompts.

When the phone reboots test its’ operation.

If still no good try a factory reset.

Be aware that a factory reset will erase all your data and downloaded apps. It will reset the phone back to its’ factory default condition. Therefore it is important to back up the phone to a pc or the cloud first before performing a factory reset.

Once the phone has been backed up using the phone’s backup feature, reset the phone using the phone’s factory restore feature.

Once it has been reset to factory default, test the phone.

if it is still faulty it is a hardware problem.

If it works OK, restore the phone with the backup you made earlier using the phone’s restore feature.

Once it has been restored test that it is still working OK.
