So as the title says I have got a really interesting problem. I recently refurbished this MacBook Pro but it only charges with bottom case off! When bottom case is on LED on the MagSafe doesn’t shine but percentage of the laptop stays the same with the charging symbol on the screen! I’ve tryed reseting SMC both ways but it did nothing. Can anyone please help me!

If anyone else runs into a similar problem try unscrewing big screw closest to the charging port and then trying to charge the computer. While it’s being charged screw the screw again in its place and from then it should be charging normal again. At least that is what fixed my MacBook. Good luck to everyone else facing similar issues!

I would check your screws which hold the logic board I suspect you placed one in the wrong location! So the pressure is causing a short!

Thanks for answering but screws are not the problem 3 13.5mm philips are placed in top right (looking from the bottom) so i guess that there may be some pressure but all the screws are placed right
@danj btw while you are still there, i noticed that my screws got magnetized, could that be causing the problem?
Magnetism is not an issue! Putting the wrong screw in the wrong place can cause issues! Some screws are short others long! You need to put the short screws in the correct holes.
I know, they are all in their places, now I have noticed that when i remove the screws charging works just fine, I am really confused...
