Hi, my machine is makes a buzzing sound near the left speake. I only get the noise when playing any type of Audio. the noise fades when I open photobooth. please advice and thank you in advance. Hello again and thank you for all your resposes. I want to add that the machine was not dropped or expose to liquid. the buzzing sould continues even when the volume is off. this is an ongoing issue for this models. thanks again

Has your machine sustained any damage? Think back, it could just be a drop or liquid spill.

We need to do some diagnostics to determine what's wrong.

Go to system preferences - sound - move the balance toggle back and forth tell me what you hear. Plug earphones in and do the same.

The speakers on the MacBook often sound like they are blown, particularly the left speaker. The defect is quite noticeable if you reboot the machine with the volume turned all the way up. The Apple startup sound will cause the speaker to pop and crack everytime.

If a high frequency squeal emits from the left side of the computer, near the keyboard. Disabling the second core of the processor or running a program that prevents the processors from being idle will eliminate this sound (like PhotoBooth).
