Hi,
in fact I do have the exact same Macbook Pro, so I want to share my current temperatures with you (@ approx. 25°C ambient temp):
Although my Macbook neither was in heavy load nor idle, I think it is fair to say, that your temperatures, in case you did not run heavy calculations in the background, are way too high!
What were the temp values like before you changed the thermal paste? Which paste did you take and how much of it did you apply ;-)

Lets get a better idea on what's happening, Install this great app TG Pro You only need the free version.
Take a snapshot of the all of the sensors (you'll need to adjust the window size so all of them can be caught in one snapshot) Don't forget to get the fans as well. Post it here for us to see Bilder zu einer vorhandenen Frage hinzufügen. Ideally, we need one just after starting your system (about 20-30 min running) before running any apps (baseline). Then do a second when the system is running hard when you think it shouldn't be.

@danj Edited! This screenshot is taken about 2 minutes after logging in, with a few tabs open on firefox

@lividpenguin - Not seeing all of the sensors! You'll need to alter the window size width down as well as slide the fan window down a bit so the sensors on the lower area can we seen within the snapshot.
Let's try to get another capture.

Ok, thank you for all the replies on this thread! Through everyones help i discovered that my MacBook was indeed running way too hot. I took someone’s suggestion and changed the thermal paste again but used a different technique that meant the coverage was hopefully better and 48 hours later it seems the temperatures have gone way down. Thanks again!
