Most of the time you need to search google with the board number, alas, Apple no longer marks it on the board in a readable form, they now use a QRC code!
So you’ll need to decipher that to get the code or use the part number to search.

I had thought that as well!
I was told by a little birdie the boards ID number and the Ethernet interfaces MAC address is what is printed.
