Is the metal tab under the SSD part of the logic board circuitry?
There’s a little metal retaining tab on the logic board under the SSD on the A1398 boards, which is broken off on my machine. I had to cut it to get the board out because the Apple repair tech who did my last battery replacement stripped out the screw.
I’d like to know if that is electrically part of the board or just a physical retaining clip... I guess it could be some sort of grounding screw (although grounding to aluminium makes no sense I guess).
Anyway, the board doesn’t seem to need that particular mount point so if it’s not electrically relevant I’m a little confused as to why it’s there… if anyone has a map of the board and can help me out, that would be awesome! Maybe @danj knows what’s up?
The bit circled in red.
I was able to remove just the metal piece (here’s the underside…)
(it has two little rivets, and a dab of solder; it separated cleanly from the board. The board is in tact, just that tab is missing.
Ist dies eine gute Frage?
Can you post a picture as I'm not sure I follow what you did Bilder zu einer vorhandenen Frage hinzufügen

Edited.
I was able to get some needle nose around it, and twist slightly clockwise. It rotated free of the board, and I could pull the logic board.
