My 2DS has a blue light turn on, but the screen won't activate. Help?

I have this 2DS. I have to keep flicking the sleep mode button to get the screen to turn on whenever I use it, and this happens with another 2DS I used to own as well. What is the problem with it, and how do I solve it? Thank you for your time.
