1 Why is my MacBook receiving power but is not charging?
My MacBook was not charging at all for the past few days. I had opened it up and removed the battery and plugged it back in to see if it would turn on, sure enough, it did. So it is receiving power through the power cable, I thought the problem was with the battery so I purchased a new third party battery with great ratings from Amazon and installed it and it turned on without being plugged in.
The problem now is that the charger wont charge my battery at all, I don’t see any light from the charging cable or any indication when the laptop is on to show that the battery is charging.
I tried contacting Apple technicians but they were little to no help regarding my issue as they didn’t want to open it up because I had myself.
I am wondering if there is anything in specific I should be looking for inside that may block the connection from the power cable to the battery.

@danj I am trying to install the app but whenever I try to open it just says "Coconut battery quit unexpectedly"
Also an update, the charging light randomly came on again but again it does not show any indication of the battery actually being charged and when I go into System Info, it doesnt read that I have a battery installed even though it does and is unplugged.

@mordekhizer - What is your OS version?
The system info listing only lists the battery when the battery is connected so if you just unplugged it that makes sense as its no longer electrical talking to the logic board to tell it its there.
