Hi @whrthrsawilse__ ,
Try the following to check if it may be a software problem and not a hardware problem
Start the phone in safe mode and check if you can be heard OK. If you can then a downloaded app is the cause of the problem. The trick is to find out which one
Wipe the cache partition and see if this resolves the problem by deleting any possibly corrupted cached data from the phone.
If the above don’t work then it may be a hardware problem.
Can you be heard OK when using the earphones with the microphone attachment or when using the phone in loudspeaker mode, you didn’t say?
If so then use a strong light and a magnifying glass to check if the voice inlet hole on the bottom edge of the phone next to the charge port is blocked by lint etc.
If it is or even if you can’t tell, do not use a pin or probe to try and clear it as you may cause some damage. Try using a vacuum cleaner to try and clear it and then check if it works OK.
Looking at the user guides for the G5s and the G5s Plus the microphone is in the same place.
Here’s an image taken from Step.14 of the ifixit Motorola Moto G5s Plus Bottom Speaker Replacement guide that shows that the microphone appears to be mounted on the systemboard..

I cannot find a separate replacement microphone part for the phone online. You may have better luck.
Also looking online shows that you aren’t the only one having the same problem with this phone.
Hopefully this is of some help.
