Replaced MacBook screen: experiencing ghosting and horizontal lines
I bought a replacement screen for MacBook Pro and installed it (using the guide on iFixIt). Everything worked fine for the first 4 days. The problem isn’t consistent. If the computer is off for a few minutes the screen will start with no issues. Overtime ( 3-5 minutes) it will develop horizontal lines, ghosting, and then freeze altogether.
The screen display in the following videos is mirroring (for reference).
I have tried:
- iOS Upgrade
- Turned on in safe mode
- Reset PRAM
- Reset SMC
- First Aid on disk utility
- Apple Diagnostic from startup
None have identified or rectified the problem. I’d love to identify if this is a problem with the screen that I bought (ebay) or a hardware problem caused during installation, or a software/hardware interface problem.
