looking for a replacement capacitor for 157 6k 231 for L2012 Mac mini

I have been having issues with my Mac mini. Its been doing a bunch of random things like not waking from sleep, sometimes showing the questions mark folder, waking up randomly and other stuff. I opened it up to clean it and replace the CMOS battery and see if there was an issue and found a blown cap behind the USB ports. I believe its 157 6k 231. as a similar sized cap is near it sharing the same height and dimensions. I can’t seem to find the cap anywhere nor can I find a dead Mac mini 2012 logic board to use as a doner board. Can anyone help me? my mini is a CTO late 2012 2.6Ghz I7, 16GB ram 1TB SSD

Sadly, I have not found schematics and boardview drawings for this series. So it’s hard to conclude what the value of the capacitor is.

Tracing out the logic board you should be able to see if the other cap is for the other set of ports. If it is you could remove it to then measure its value to then get a replacement for the visibly damaged one.

Even still you’ll need to proper tools to desolder them do you have a hot air re-work station? Have you done any serious work with SMT devices, these are tricky to properly solder.

I do wonder why the cap blew in the first place. This may just be a sign post of other issues deeper in.

I do have an SMD rework station with reflow tools and soldering iron both digitally controlled. I just want to know if anyone out there can help me find the replacement caps or a late 2012 doner board I can use to pull the caps I need. Or if there are different caps that will work in place of.
