How to remove a stripped screw from near the vibrator motor?

Whilst trying to disassemble my Iphone 4G to replace the Digitizer & LCD screen i have managed to find and probally strip a tiny screw.

This screw is located near the Vibrator motor just above where the battery sits.

I have tried using a flat rubber band to give grip and even a larger screwdriver with pressure to create it after listening to suggestions - neither of these ideas have worked! what can i do? i've heard that a dab of superglue on the screw head and setting a screwdriver to it should work? is this true would it help or is there something else i can do to get the screw out.

please it is urgent as i need my phone.

I haven't gotten a new screw but I've just ordered a new vibrate motor as the connection without the screw isn't strong enough to activate the vibrate all the time. So replacing the whole thing since I bent the bracket :-)

Thanks again for the help

I would try the superglue trick since it seems you are in a hurry. Use a small phillips screwdriver and a drop of more thick running glue. Do not use the type that flows smoothly or you could end up gluing even more than you want.

Here is some advice: http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/...

Take your time and move slowly. A Dremel could be your rescue but be careful so you don't damage more.

Thanx for the suggestions the glue didn't work

And I was too scared to drill it out.

I ended up using tweezers n bending the bracket to be able to access the screw for the new LCD n digitizer and when I pushed the bracket back into place the screw just popped out ( go figure)

My phones all back together now n functioning fine :-)

Did you get a new screw or just leave it? Kudos to you for not giving up Jeannie ;-)

You can try this but i must warn you to be VERY CAUTIOUS in what you are doing. I used this method and it was successful for me, but then again, it was a small screw. *I am not responsible for any damage done to your phone* :)

Ok, so i took a power drill and used it on the top screw of the EMF protection shield. The screw was stripped so I took the smallest drill bit i could find that would just fit the circumference of the screw. Then, very carefully screw into it, completely making the screw into a bowl. Next, switched directions of the drill, used a little force and went slow....next thing i know the screw is out. You can try this but just be careful and don't break anything. GOOD LUCK! Let me Know if you need anything else. PLEASE be careful
