So I have this ps2 and it has an issue I’ve never seen with any systems before, it works perfectly fine but as soon as I close the disk tray it powers off and won’t power on at all with the tray closed.
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

Hi!
When you close the lid, the sensors should detect that the lid is closed, so that it’s a go for him to read the disc if a disc is placed.
Probably a sensor error. There are multiple sensor. 1 at the motherboard (at the back), the other one is located on the on/off button (and LED) board.
Does it read the disc? Or does it turns off before it’s able to read the disc (do you hear the laser, or spinning)?
If no, I would try to replace the on/off button (as the sensor is at the button, so this one will be replaced too).
