My tv won’t turn on. Cycles itself but never gets to the main screen

My tv tries to turn on. Red light goes out and you can see the screen turn on but stays black. Then it turns off on its own again. And cycles through that process again and again.

I took the back cover off. Everything looks to be in good shape. No bulging capacitors or loose connections. As soon as I plug the tv back into the outlet it cycles itself trying to turn on. I just see a faint change of the screen trying to boot up. Red standby light is off and blinks once every 10 seconds or so

Hi @mikekrusto ,

Try the following to see if any may give a better indication of what may be happening:

a). Try a power refresh - Turn off the TV and disconnect the power from the TV and then press and hold the TV power On button for a full 30 seconds and then release. Reconnect the power to the TV and try to turn it on.

b). Disconnect the power from the TV and then remove the back cover and disconnect the cable between the power board and the mainboard. Reconnect the power to the TV. The TV backlights should turn full on and stay on.

If they don’t turn on or they blink then there is a problem with the power board, the connection between the power board and the LED backlights or the LED backlights themselves.

If they stay on, then use a DMM to measure the voltages on the power board at the connector that the cable from the mainboard connects to. They should measure as per what is shown on the board for that connector.

Be safety aware as there is exposed lethal AC voltage on the power board also!

If the voltages test OK and the backlights have stayed on then this most likely eliminates the power board as a problem.

c). Disconnect the power from the TV and reconnect the cable between the mainboard and the power board and then reconnect the power to the TV and turn it on. Then measure the voltage on the tcon board. I don’t know what the voltage should be but perhaps no more than 12-20V DC.

Here’s an image of a tcon board for your TV where I think the fuse is.

If there is no voltage then it may be the mainboard or cable connections. If there is voltage then it could be either, the mainboard or the tcon board
