How can I reset a managed chrome book back to factory?

Hello, I picked up a chrome book from a recycling center. Bought it for the screen. Turns out the chrome book is newer than the one I was using. I now use this one but cant seem to find a way to remove the system manger.

Just confirming you did this (from google support):

Factory reset your Chromebook

  1. Sign out of your Chromebook.
  2. Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift + r.
  3. Select Restart.
  4. In the box that appears, select Powerwash. Continue.
  5. Follow the steps that appear and sign in with your Google Account. ...
  6. Once you've reset your Chromebook:

If that is the case, there are two more routes you can take:

  1. Install CloudReady OS (Home Edition) onto your Chromebook. It’s a ChromeOS-clone that is designed to be run on a wider set of devices (like desktops, laptop or macs).
  2. Install your favourite flavour of linux (Manjaro or Mint Linux)

Yes i searched and saw this answer but wasn't sure if that would work for all chrom books. Do you think it will work with HP?

Well Google is trying to do what Apple does and limit the ecosystem with specifications. So all Chromebooks have a certain standard setup. According to the second link, the newer Chromebooks have removed this security workaround. *IF* you are reluctant to open your Chromebook, I suggest you install CloudReady *BUT* I'm not certain if they also adhear to ChromeOS enterprise management. Never had the opportunity to try myself.
