Is the display on the original model LED backlit?

I'm looking at buying one of these used and that was an item I was told to look for as the model I'm looking at may need a new screen down the line.

According to Mactracker the MacBook Pro model A1211 doesn't have the LED LCD monitor.

lemerise is correct - this model definitely does not have LED backlight (I have this machine)
