Can the battery be bypassed completely?

PS5 controllers have the same flaw as PS4 controllers. The controller can communicate wired to the console, but it refuses to stay powered on if the battery is no good. You’d think in the 21st century they’d engineer it to receive direct power instead of relying solely on the %#*@ battery. I can plug an Xbox controller into my Xbox with no battery at all and it works fine.
