Home button not working after restore

Hi!

so recently I just replaced my iPhone 7 lighting cable and the front camera and now that it boots I’ve been having some problems. First, before I could get it to boot I had to restore the phone like 10 times because non of them were successful. Once I got it to boot, then I went through the setup perfectly fine up until eventually the home button stopped working. I don’t know if it’s broken or not because it was working perfectly fine so im just wondering if anyone could know the problem with it?

Ist dies eine gute Frage?

If you removed the screen but did not remove the home button the problem will be a micro tear in the flex coming from the screen to the logic board. It will be on the shortest flex at the 90 degree bend. You will need a replacement screen.

All I did was disconnect the screen piece (as a whole) from the phone. I don’t know how it would tear because it was working after the repairs. It just recently stopped working. Also why would I need to replace the screen? Would just replacing the button work?

The flex that gets damaged on the iPhone 7 is the one that goes from the screen to the logic board. It has nothing to do with the home button assembly. You would have disconnected two connectors on the bottom of the logic board that go to the screen; the shortest one is the home button flex.

Oh ok. Thank you
