MacBook Air keeps restarting when on battery (bootloop)
Hi Guys,
I have a MacbookAir, 13 A1466. The problem is it goes to bootloop mode the moment I disconnect the power adapter.(keep hearing the start chime over and over again)
But works perfectly when on magsafe power.
I have tried resetting the PRAM and the SMC but does not help.(lloking at the earlier post) but when hooked on to power after SMC rest the light on the adpater turns orange(charging)
Coconut battery shows that the battery is is good health with 191 charge cycles.
I have been using this macbook air on a regular basis on my travels. however due to the pandemic i have stopped travelling and this macbook air has been sitting idle for the last 1 year atleast.
do you guys think that the battery is completely dead and needs a change?
Thanks for reading my post and your kind ssuggestion.
Cheers,
Sid

I would run the onboard diagnostics to see if any errors pop. Try it both AC powered as well as straight battery. Let us know what you get for errors if any.
Restart your system and press the D key to enter.
Reference: Mac startup key combinations
Can you post a snapshot of CoconutBattery as well so we can review it Bilder zu einer vorhandenen Frage hinzufügen

Hi Dan,
Thanks for reading my post and helping me out. I am attaching a picture of coconut battery.
When I run diagnostics the system prompts me for the language and then sits idle. I do not see any activity on the screen after that. the only options available are restart and shutdown on the screen. also the serial number the MAC is mentioned on the bottom left.

I got error ADP000 (no error found on a/c power).
Could not complete the diagnostics on battery as the MBA restarted.
BTW i went ahead and reset the SMC 1 more time and when the indicator light changed to orange i let it charge for an hour. This time the battery gave me a backup of 1 hour and then the MBA went back to bootloop. when i rebooted with the ac adapter plugged in the battery percentage was at 85%.
