MacBook Air won’t charge or turn on

I will upload a picture below. There is possibly some minor scorching around one of the pins but is extremely subtle if thats what it is. Having done a bit of research on this site I think the problem may have been caused by using a knock off magsafe 2 charger, as that is when the trouble started. The other charger I tried after that was an official magsafe1 charger with official adaptor but even though the light came on the magsafe1 charger, the laptop started to turn on and then turned off again with it.

Thanks for this. Is there anyway to identify ahead of time which parts will need replacing as I do not have a lot of money.

@emidude - I would start with getting a new charger (real Apple unit), someone with the deeper micro-electronics skills might be able to fix the I/O board sensor line circuit, but that will also cost you so I'm not sure if that's cheaper. In any case this all needs to work before you can tackle the logic board.

@danj I do have an official 60w MagSafe 1 charger and official MagSafe 1 to MagSafe 2 adapter and I’ve head that (at least when everything is working) you can use a higher wattage to lower wattage (my MacBook Air is 45w) without problems. However, after I used the non brand charger and my battery stopped holding any charge, it would not even turn on with the official MagSafe 1 to MagSafe 2 setup. It would at that stage still turn on with the non brand MagSafe 2. Sorry for the rambling. I have found some suggestions online such as reset the smc but I am unsure whether to try this with the 60w charger. If it is all official apple is there any risk using a higher wattage after resetting smc?
