My PC doesn't display the bios screen and boots straight into Windows

My PC will not boot into BIOS at all. I did a CMOS reset. I went to Advanced Settings to UEFI. I have tried everything. Tried booting without HDD’s, nothing. I don’t know if its a CPU issue or a Motherboard issue or even a Monitor issue. I cant get into my BIOS at all. I personally don't think my PC is skipping the BIOS but it's just not coming up on my display because as soon as I boot I see a brief “input not supported” message appear on my monitor it then goes away and I boot into windows like normal. I am running onboard graphics for now and I have seen people suggest that could be the problem but have found no fix can someone please help me.

I have been looking for a fix for this for weeks and I have no clue what to do. I may just let my PC rest and see if it fixes itself.

Hi @jchap2506

Have you tried disabling fast startup and check if you can get into BIOS with a display, as you didn't mention doing this? Press the Del key to enter BIOS during POST i.e. after Startup but before Windows boots

Check if you have the latest motherboard drivers installed i.e. BIOS and chipset. The video drivers for BIOS are stored in BIOS so perhaps there is a problem there.

Here are links for b450 aorus elite motherboard Rev (1.x) and Ver.2 (1.x). They are different so if you decide to update make sure that you get the correct ones.

Also do one at a time and check before doing the second, perhaps the chipset drivers first.

I can’t really help too much without being there in person but there are some things you can try:

  • Try using a different keyboard or mouse to enter the BIOS.
  • Make sure you are pressing the correct key to enter into the BIOS.
  • Check the Manuel, if you don’t have it; most manufacturers’ websites will have the manual.
  • Try another monitor; maybe that will help.
  • If all else fails. Contact your manufacturers’ support center.

I’m afraid all I can offer is those tips.

Hello. Thanks but I don't have any way to try to enter the BIOS due to the display been blank with a display not supported message showing.

von

Then try another display, unless you can’t.

von

I have and It has worked on some displays which is why I think it is to do with either my current display or something wrong with my APU.

von

Then it appears to be that your display is not able to display the BIOS. So the problem is with your display. Especially if it works on other displays. Try updating the monitor or installing the correct drivers and see if that helps.

the key to hit to get into bios is different for different MFG. It definitely is not CRTL-ALT-DEL.

Try ESC, F1, or DEL.

Had this issue with my acer ka242y monitor

Seems that my bios resolution is not supported by my monitor. Had to use a different monitor to see motherboards logo and access my bios

I think I understand your question. It is not about how to enter the BIOS, you already know the different methods to do it... it is just that the BIOS is there but shows a blank screen, no video is showing, but the BIOS is there. You can even change your monitor devices, but it does not show anything when entering BIOS. You can actually hear the beep when the BIOS has started/opened, but you see nothing on your monitor. Well... I know this because it is happening to me, but I see no answer to this problem yet, did you manage to fix it?

Enter your BIOS and find the switch to turn on the BIOS screen when booting. Possibly under BOOT CONFIGURATION.

If you are looking for all the info that came years ago, It might only enable the logo.

But if it is available it is in the BIOS.
