Display becomes black after a minute or more
MBP model is A2159. I am able to view the login screen properly upon opening the lid. I can type in the password and can reach the home screen.
After some time (the shortest being 5 seconds and the longest being 1 minute) the screen goes black with blueish vertical lines as shown below.
During this time the screen stays undisturbed. Every time I open the lid the display shows up correctly and then goes black. What can be the issue here?
- Can it be a display (LCD) issue?
- Can it be a problem with the flex cables?

Appreciate if someone could help me on this.
