I cant tell if my apple watch is a series 2 or 3 and I need a new bat

I cant tell if my apple watch is a series 2 or 3 and I need a new battery the back of the watch is scratched and cant make out the markings.

Thank you for your help. I now know its a series 3 GPS thanks to the pictures and advice.

@iturn1 you could try to identify the watch according to this. Or you could go through the guides on here and see which steps work for you. That will help to identify which model you have. Slow and easy will do the trick. Once you have it opened you can identify the battery and purchase it after you know exactly what model your watch is.
