I ordered the replacement PRAM battery for the A1106 PowerBook G4. I got the round LiON battery, but when I opened up my computer I found the PRAM battery from model M9969LL/A, A1138. I can't fit the round battery into the frame that's in my computer. Should I order the other battery or the frame for the A1106 battery? And, has anyone else found this?

I apologize for not being more clear. My PRAM battery is dead and I ordered the battery that is supposed to be in the A1106. When I opened my computer I found the battery in my computer is the one that is recommended for the A1138. The questions here are; has anyone else found this issue AND does the A1138 battery come with the harness? Thank you for the links to repairs.
The second part of my question is about the laptop battery. It is acting very strange and I wanted to know if the PRAM battery would effect it's performance (it is showing 94% charge), but in the pull-down menu on the menu bar it shows that it is not charging and when I unplug the computer, the computer shuts down and with the PRAM dead, well you know what happens, it's 1969 all over again. And when I press the button on the battery to show the charge, the lights all come on then flash off...

I had the exact same problem. I ordered the round battery for my A1106 that matched the one shown in the guide, and when I opened the case, it had a square battery that looks like the one that shows in the repair guide for the A1138. I don't know if this is a mistake in the guides (reversed?) or if apple used different batteries in different versions of of the A1106. The size and shape of the two carrier boards look the same, but they hold different shaped batteries. I found a used like battery on eBay and returned the round one to ifixit.com.
