Surface Pro charges and then disconnects multiple times during charge.

I currently own a Microsoft Surface Pro. It came with its own factory-made charger that broke after a few years. I then ordered a new Surface Pro charger off of Amazon which charged the device for a bit but then stopped and continued until the battery died. The charger is brand new and the charging port has never been damaged. Should I get a new charger or consider swapping my battery?
