My dash lights only come on if the door ajar light is on

I can only get my dash lights to stay on when I start the car if my door jar light is on

I never had that issue with my Prius, but posting more info would be helpful.

Like, when I start my car I can only turn on the dash lights by opening the door.

And, which doors will turn them on.

And, will any other unrelated operation turn them on.

And, do they come on at all with the doors closed.
