hori wireless battlepad some buttons aren't working

I have a GameCube style wireless controller for the switch called "Hori wireless battle pad". Some of the buttons on it are not working. Not sure of the full list, but the A button and d-pad left for example. I have taken the controller apart and couldn't find anything wrong with it visually. Does anyone have any ideas what to do?

You might be able to re download the firmware for the controller on the controller section on the switch, that's what I did to fix the switch controllers. I had buttons not working and fix all issues. But it could be hardware issues, plenty of guides on YouTube that can teach you
