My computer won't turn on

I have already replaced the CMOS battery and the normal battery but the same problem as before,it does not want to turn on anymore and when I plug it in it makes an electric ticking sound every second this is even if it is not on yet I have also tried this once with the battery disconnected and then plugged it in again now I had the same problem.I do not understand it I do everything for my computer for example I always plug my pc charging cable in first then the adapter into the socket.

Any help is welcome ,

Hi,

Does the laptop indicate that it is charging when the charger is connected?

Have you checked that the charger has 20V DC at the plug , by measuring it at that point with a voltmeter?

If you don't have a meter, can you try a different known working compatible charger and see if that works?

von

No there is nothing to see and I have also clicked with my pin in the hole of the BIOS but that does not help either .

@Lucas Matthys

Please clarify?

You cannot measure any voltage when connecting a meter to the plug on the output of the charger, is this correct?

If so the charger or charger cord is faulty and most probably the battery has gone flat because the charger wasn't charging the battery when it was connected to the laptop.

I had put my multimeter on the charge pin of the laptop and then it said 20 volts DC .

Hi @Lucas Matthys,

You may have to start checking the voltages on the motherboard to find out what's happening.

Here's a link to the schematics that may help with this.
